There are at least four species of Codium on the SWA coast. The specimen in the picture, taken in macro mode with a cell phone, corresponds to the surface of C. decorticatum in Patagonia, Argentina. The utricles, which give the appearance of a viper's skin, can be seen on the surface. This 30 cm specimen can be considered a giant single cell with many nuclei. Did you know that?
