Sea spider weed on maerl

I recently Joined Natural England's dive team to monitor the fantastic St Mawes maerl beds where I collected this amazing specimen of Halarachnion ligulatum. It is about 15 cm long and the photograph shows it still attached to a small maerl rhodolith. This seaweed is very delicate and has a slippery lubricious feel. A delicate seaweed living in a fragile habitat
