Rainbow seaweeds

In the spring, seaweed along the shallow rocky shores of the UK is at its most colourful and vibrant. Growing back after the winter, and before the summer sun bleaches their colours, a variety of species take on pink, yellow, red, and even blue hues. Here, stunning iridescent rainbow wrack is set against pink 'pom pom' weed, with other species such as (invasive) Sargassum in the background. Taken underwater at less than 3m depth.
