Helen Smith, PhD, Physical Oceanographer, has designed a Christmas card using light microscope images of diatoms (see media images), which she is selling in aid of PLANETS cancer charity to show support for a friend with pancreatic cancer. All profits are going to charity. I was hoping that the BPS might widen my audience of phytoplankton enthusiasts and enable a larger donation to charity be made.
