DESCRIPTION:24th Annual Seaweed Symposium Seaweeds in a Changing World  \n\n\n\nThe 24th International Seaweed Symposium will be held for the first time in Australia. It will take place in Hobart\, Tasmania\, Australia’s most southern state\, from Sunday 19th to Friday 24th February 2023.  \n\n\n\nThe 24th ISS committee has chosen the theme ‘Seaweeds in a changing world’\, to focus on ongoing changes in seaweed aquaculture practices\, industrial processing\, future products and markets\, local and global environmental change\, and scientific advances that will change our understanding of how seaweeds function at all levels of organization. The symposium format will enable actual and virtual delegates and presenters to attend and interact\, and we expect a vibrant and exciting new style of conference.  The organizing committee feels the opportunity to have the Symposium also hosted online presents an opportunity for us to reach a broader audience than the traditional Symposium. As such\, we see 2023 as being a new and positive direction for the Symposium. With International travel restrictions to Australia lifted\, we hope as many of you as possible will be able to join us for the 24th ISS in Australia’s southern most state\, Tasmania.
