DESCRIPTION:UKHA Group: Advancing strategies\, collaboration and understanding on the science and impacts of marine and freshwater harmful algae/bacteria in the UK \n\n\n\nSecond meeting\, Tues June 13th & Weds 14th 2023 \n\n\n\nRobert Gordon University\, Aberdeen \n\n\n\nGeneral arrangements \n\n\n\nThe meeting will be held at Robert Gordon University Garthdee Campus: \n\n\n\nSir Ian Wood Building\, Garthdee Rd\, Garthdee\, Aberdeen AB10 7GJ \n\n\n\nDelegates should plan to arrive on the 13th at 12.30 for a 13.00 start.  The meeting will be held across two days\, with the main programme finishing by 14.00 on the 14th. In the afternoon of the 14th there are planned optional demonstration workshops (details to be forthcoming). \n\n\n\nFollowing the session on the Tuesday an evening event will be organised which will start shortly after the end of the formal session and will allow people to continue discussions and networking.  Costs and details tbc\, but separate receipts will be obtainable. \n\n\n\nPlease confirm your attendance at the meeting by 1st April 2023\, including the evening event. \n\n\n\nPlease also let the organisers know any dietary requirements by 13th May at the latest. \n\n\n\nIf you require overnight accommodation there are many choices in Aberdeen to suit your budget.  If you have any queries regarding suitable locations do contact the organisers (list of hotels available will be supplied). \n\n\n\nThe campus is 3 miles from the central train and bus stations\, with buses leaving the city centre every 15 mins taking approximately 30 mins to the university location. Aberdeen airport is 9 miles outside of the city\, with buses taking one hour to reach the city centre. \n\n\n\nMeeting overview \n\n\n\nThis year the focus will be on: \n\n\n\n\nNew scientific developments in last four years.\n\n\n\nA focus on our students and early career researchers – with all welcome to participate.\n\n\n\nOpportunities for future collaborative initiatives.\n\n\n\nPoster session for all\, especially welcoming ECRs and students.\n\n\n\n\nNext steps \n\n\n\n\nPlease confirm if you intend to take part in this meeting – emailing d.mcdonald1@rgu.ac.uk by 1st April 2023\n\n\n\n\n\nAlso\, whether you would like to present any scientific presentations\, with an approximate title/theme (also by 1st April 2023) – and whether you prefer an oral or poster presentation\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease also let us know whether you intend to bring a student and/or early-career researcher (and whether they prefer a poster or oral presentation)\n\n\n\n\nIf you have any questions regarding this event or for any practical queries regarding transport\, accommodation\, Aberdeen or the university\, please contact Dorothy McDonald: d.mcdonald1@rgu.ac.uk
