Canter-Lund 2022 – Entries

This is the entry form for the 2022 Hilda Canter-Lund photography award. Please read through the rules and ensure you meet all the image requirements outlined below. Please note, you do not need to be a member of the British Phycological Society to enter this competition, once submissions are closed, we will open voting for the best images through our contest gallery.

Each individual may submit only one image to the competition. The file submitted for judging must be a JPEG with a maximum size of 10 mb and images that exceed this will not be submittable through the online system. However, the original image, which may be requested for shortlisted entries, must be capable of being viewed and printed at 20 x 30 cm without loss of image quality. Preferably this will be a TIFF image (uncompressed or with lossless compression e.g. by LZW) with pixel dimensions of c. 2400 x 3600 (because this allows images of 20 x 30 cm to be printed satisfactorily).

All submitted images will be displayed on the website immediately after upload, and may be used on social media to advertise the Hild Canter-Lund competition and to promote algal science outreach. If you do not consent to sharing your image through our public competition, please do not enter. If you have uploaded an image by mistake and would like it removed, please email the Webmaster of the society (admin@brphycsoc.org).

The contest will close, and submissions will no longer be accepted after 20 May, 2022. Voting will open shortly after, in the meantime please visit the gallery page to see our wonderful submissions.
